HOW TO GET INVOLVED
We welcome people from all walks of life. We are simply looking for people who care about children and have common sense. As a volunteer, you will be thoroughly trained and well supported by professional staff to help you through each case.
Being a CASA volunteer does not require any special education or background, simply the desire to help abused and neglected children find safe, permanent homes.
What does it take to become a CASA volunteer?
Step 1: Each candidate must be at least 21 years old, pass a background check and participate in a 40-hour training course.
Step 2: After completing the training, the volunteer is assigned his first case. A volunteer’s average time commitment to a case is approximately 4-8 hours per month.
Step 3: Maintain monthly visit with your child(ren) and give written reports prior to court hearings.
Volunteer advocates have support and supervision every step of the way and always have resources available.

Advocating for Hope, Stability, and Permanency
Every day, children in our communities experience abuse, neglect, and uncertainty. When a child enters foster care, they often face a complex system and life-changing decisions that will shape their future.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are trained community volunteers who are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. By building relationships with the child and gathering information from everyone involved in the child's life, CASA volunteers provide the court with objective recommendations that help ensure each child's needs, safety, and well-being remain the priority.
CASA volunteers are often the one consistent adult presence in a child's life during a time of upheaval and change. They remain involved throughout the life of the case, advocating for the child until a safe, permanent home is achieved. Their dedication helps children find stability, access needed services, and have a voice in decisions that affect their future.
At Serviceheart CASA, we believe every child deserves to be heard, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.
Through the commitment of our volunteers, we work to ensure that children in foster care have a caring advocate standing beside them every step of the way.

Turning Advocacy Into Outcomes
Through dedicated advocacy, collaboration, and compassionate support, CASA volunteers help children in foster care move toward safer, more stable, and permanent futures. As trained advocates appointed by the court, they gather information, monitor a child's progress, and provide informed recommendations that help judges make decisions in the child's best interests.
Beyond the courtroom, CASA volunteers attend school meetings, communicate with service providers, and build meaningful relationships with the children they serve. By remaining a consistent presence during times of uncertainty and change, they provide the stability, encouragement, and support that every child deserves.
